shrug plus size knit pattern

Knit One Purl Two happens to be one of the most well known knitting terms, well known by non-knitters and knitters alike. Let me start by introducing you to the five stitch types that I believe are at the very heart of knitting!

To achieve the garter stitch, either knit or purl every row. You should hold classes on a regular basis, such as once per week, biweekly, or once a month. In fact what type of knitting yarn to use is one of the most important decisions a craftsperson has to make.

The garter stitch is often referred to as plain knitting because every row is made by either a knit or a purl stitch. You can opt to learn from an individual locally, but this can cost quite a bit of time and money. Plenty of finished knitting projects never use more than a single colour of yarn, but there are many ways to work in multiple colors.

So why make it more difficult for yourself by choosing small size needles and tiny yarn to learn with? The single yarns may be dyed separately before plying, or afterwards to give the yarn a uniform look.

Most new knitters should start with some of the basic patterns listed above and work on mastering basic stitches. Keep looking around this site for lots of tips, patterns, resources and ideas.
