Like weaving, knitting is a technique for producing a two-dimensional fabric from a one-dimensional yarn or thread. Knitting threads or yarns are used to create cloths or warm cloths.
The knit stitch is formed by making loops which interweave with one another; one after another. Records show that the first sweaters were knit in the 17th century; before that smaller pieces and undergarments were knit. I then lay the knitting on a flat clean towel.
When you complete a lovely, warm sweater made with your own hands, you can proudly wear it and explain that you knitted it yourself. Sock knitting machines are antiques and they are not made any more. The first step is to setup a basket or bonnet which makes the needles move continuously.
