knit tree skirt

Like weaving, knitting is a technique for producing a two-dimensional fabric from a one-dimensional yarn or thread. Ordinarily, stitches are knitted in the same order in every row, and the wales of the fabric run parallel and vertically along the fabric.

Take it from me, when you knit-it-yourself, it feels good! Hand-knitting has gone into and out of fashion many times in the last two centuries, and at the turn of the 21st century it is enjoying a revival. On the left are a pair of scissors, a yarn needle, green and blue stitch markers, and two orange point protectors.

Laces are provided from Iceland and Estonia. But in reality, a handcrafted gift, such as a knit baby blanket, costs a lot more in material and time than the mass produced blankets that you find in the store. These developments made possible the shaping of hosiery and other pieces of clothing.

But, that's the essence of knitting. Brainstorm, and figure out which way of teaching would be best for you and your students!
