how to french knit

In this article, I will attempt to explain some of the basic knitting stitches and everything they encompass. Knitting is the art of turning threads int

To form a "knit stitch" you use one needle to pull a loop of yarn through the existing stitch on the other needle. Catch the knitting yarn on the end on the right knitting needle and pull it through the first stitch to the front of the work. After all, it is the experience of knitting that we are seeking, more so than the finished-object.

On the left are a pair of scissors, a yarn needle, green and blue stitch markers, and two orange point protectors. The second type of knitting needles are straight, double-pointed knitting needles (also called "dpns"). The stitches are much the same as the baby blanket design, but the final product is nearly twice as large.
