knitting patterns boot toppers

When I have spent hours working on knitting a sweater, I want to make sure it looks as good after a dozen washes as it did the day I was knitting it. Let's start with some basic patterns.

Plenty of finished knitting projects never use more than a single colour of yarn, but there are many ways to work in multiple colors. Hem top should be knitted by taking a stitch from the first row, and should be hanged on the needle. I love the new kids needles that are about 7 inches long.

Keeping the yarn at the back, bring it "over" the tip of the needle, counterclockwise. Once you learn these two stitches you will find everything else is just a variation of the knit and purl stitches. Ornamental pieces may also be knitted separately and then attached using applique.

To do a yarn-over after a knit stitch, just bring your yarn across your work from the back to the front. Good luck with your knitting.
