how to sew on knit material

Knit One Purl Two happens to be one of the most well known knitting terms, well known by non-knitters and knitters alike. Let's start with some basic patterns.

For comparison, woven garments stretch mainly along one direction (the bias) and not very much, unless they are woven from stretchable material such as Lycra. There are actually hundreds of combinations of stitch patterns. First the skill level; it can be easy, medium, hard or beginner, intermediate or advance, each pattern has specific skill level, you can start with beginner and then go for complex advanced patterns.

Knitting is done by looping those threads, into each other by stitching. The third needle type consists of circular needles, which are long, flexible double-pointed needles. You can even make some easy handbags, mats to begin knitting.

Transformation of a hank of lavender silk yarn (top) into a ball in which the knitting yarn emerges from the center (bottom). Thicker yarns generally require thicker knitting needles, whereas thinner yarns may be knit with thick or thin needles.

Even if you're a pretty proficient knitter, this isn't the time to learn a new technique or work with a skinny fingering-weight yarn that will take forever to knit up. Most new knitters should start with some of the basic patterns listed above and work on mastering basic stitches.
